Sefton Council will provide restricted services throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Significant savings are being generated as most staff are required to take unpaid leave on December 24, 27, 28 and 31. This will contribute towards the £64m savings required to achieve a balanced budget by 2020.
Many services will not operate and most Council buildings will be closed.
Residents can still access a range of information and transactions via the council website - sefton.gov.uk. This includes checking bin collection dates, paying Council Tax and business rates, applying for licences and reporting environmental issues.

Our successful Aspiring Instructors course returns for a 7th Year.

A 16 week training programme has been developed through our Ways to Work ESF project. The programme  includes a practical work placement, nationally recognised qualifications and free coaching, support and advice to help you move into a new career.

Programme to start March 2019.

Meet the Employer Event

This event is designed to let you speak to our local Care in the Home provider who has contracts in Sefton. They have a numerous vacancies for qualified and unqualified jobs.

They will be at Sefton@Work  from 10.00am to give a short presentation and will then be available to speak to you on a 1-2-1 basis throughout the afternoon.

They are looking to meet people who really care about their work - who want to develop a career in the care industry or those who are curious about the care industry and want to find out some more information about these rewarding roles.

Please bring along a CV if you have one plus the following items for ID purposes

  • Passport or Birth Certificate
  • Proof of NI (Card or on a letter or payslip)
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of benefit(if Applicable)

(If you don't have a CV, you can register with Sefton at Work on the day and we can help you write a new one!)

Aspiring Instructors Open Day

10:00 am: Antrec Construction Skills & CSCS Card Training (Open Day 31/01/2019 10am)

The training will run at Antrec Bootle from Monday, 04 February 2019 - Friday, 08 February 2019 Days will run from 9.00am -4.00pm

Training runs for 5 days and is funded for those aged 19+ and currently in receipt of benefits, subject to eligibility.

On our Construction Skills & CSCS Card Training course learners will complete the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. This qualification covers the key aspects of Health and Safety within the construction industry and explores what those looking for employment within construction need to know, to be able to carry out their work safely and correctly. This qualification will prepare you for the exam needed in order to gain your CSCS card.

As training is government funded we can fund your Health and Safety qualification plus CSCS exam, registration and card costs. Cards are usually back to us within 10 working days, so turnaround is quite quick.

Sefton@Work can offer you additional support alongside this opportunity with a range of interventions including access to financial assistance with your travel to Training and Employment.
