Hours: 9.30-3.30      Duration: 10 working Days (2 weeks)

Eligibility:

  • Age 19+
  • Unemployed and in receipt of working age benefits.
  • Employed on low wage, furloughed, employed or self-employed
  • Residency – have lived in EU for 3+ years.
  • Must not be on Apprenticeship or other government funded training.

On successful completion of this course all candidates will receive

This course is designed to build confidence and address potential barriers candidates may have around their hopes and fears of today’s digital world. The practical and holistic approach to the course will allow candidates to flourish in achieving new skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm for this subject. This will provide candidates with the opportunity to develop the skills they need which may have been holding them back; to prepare for employment and enhance their ability to work effectively and productively in today’s environment.

IT User Fundamentals
  • Use IT systems to meet needs
  • Organise, store and retrieve information
  • Follow and understand the need for safety and security practices
  • Carry out routine maintenance of IT systems and respond to routine IT system problems.
Using the Internet
  • Connect to the internet
  • User the browser software to navigate web pages
  • Use browser tools to search for information from the internet
  • Use browser software to communicate information online
  • Follow and understand the need for safety & security practices when working online
Using Email

 

  • Use email software tools and techniques to compose and send messages
  • Identify how to stay safe and respect others when using email
  • Use an address book to organise contact information
  • Identify when and how to respond to email messages
  • Identify how to organise, store, or delete email messages
  • Identify how to try to react to common email problems.
World Processing Software
  • Enter, edit and combine text and other information accurately within structured information within word processing documents
  • Word processing documents
  • Use word processing software tools to format and present documents

 

On completion of the course, candidates are offered a flexible route onto a tailored programme that is designed to support their individual needs e.g. Level 1 Award/Certificate in Employability Skills that’s supports progression into employment or a specialist work-related pathway, such as Occupational Studies for the Workplace; supporting Candidates in developing & applying their new skills to today’s labour market opportunities.
