SALARY – Negotiable dependent on experience.

RESPONSIBLE TO: NURSERY MANAGER / ROOM SUPERVISOR / UNIT LEADER   MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:

1            To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Nursery.

2            To give support to other personnel within the Nursery.

3            To implement the daily routine in the base room.

Key Responsibilities Childcare and Education

To provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.

To observe, support and extend children learning.

To plan appropriately for children using the EYFS framework.

To maintain accurate and effective children’s records. To work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.

To demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.

To work with the Childcare and Education team to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.

To ensure that children are kept safe and to understand and follow all Safeguarding Procedures.

To ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.

To work with area SENDCo’s, health professionals, local Sure Start programmes as appropriate.

To comply with relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and company policies and procedures at all times.

To develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools, area SENDCO’s and other agencies that may visit the setting.
