Transport \& Vehicle Maintenance

Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Auto Fitter Mechanic within the Transport \& Vehicle Maintenance Department, Operational In-House Services.

Reporting to the Charge Hand Mechanic you will support in ensuring efficient maintenance of the Authority’s vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities will include repair and maintenance of the Authorities 300+ vehicle/plant items. Based at Hawthorne Road Depot you must have a mechanical background with proven experience in a Commercial Work Shop Environment.

This should include a full HGV category C licence and a sound knowledge and understanding of Commercial Fleet Vehicles, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems.

You should also be fully aware of the HGV/PCV testing procedures and relevant Health \& Safety legislation.
