Support Worker/Care Worker Southport PR/DP/JR

Job purpose

To provide support to a friendly sociable 16-year-old girl with a moderate learning disability in the Southport area. I am lots of fun and get on with others very well. I love going to the park to feed the ducks, walking and swimming and I also enjoy creative and sensory activities.

I am looking for someone to help me access the things I like to do and help me live a more independent life. I am currently learning basic life-skills at college and would like someone support to be able to use these new skills within my home.

Main Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support.

Support to attend a swimming session on a Wednesday evening that will include personal care and assistance in the water.

Support to participate in identified social activities that I enjoy.

Support to access the wider community and possibly explore new environments.

To provide support with social and emotional needs.

Help to keep me safe whilst out and about.

Assistance with personal care as and when required.

No formal qualifications are required

Experience and Skills

You must be friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic about caring for others.

Experience of supporting people with additional needs in a formal or informal role would be desirable.

Be willing to build up and develop positive relationships.

Ability to be patient, kind and trustworthy. Have good communication skills and the ability to be punctual and reliable.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
