Support Worker/Care Worker – BOOTLE Part-Time Ref; Bootle/JR/OM

Wage: £11.44 per hour

Hours: 7.5hours per week   Hours can be flexible (to be mutually agreed with employer).

Job purpose

To provide support to a friendly sociable 9-year-old boy in the Bootle area.

I am diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Global Developmental Delay with Hypo mobility and Hypotonia and I require assistance to be tube fed.

I require support with all aspects of my personal care and a high level of supervision to keep me safe.

I communicate in my own way and must be given time to process information which you will learn as you get to know me.

I love playing on my iPad and watching YouTube.

I enjoy spending time in the garden, going to the park and going places where I can be given some freedom. I do require a wheelchair whilst out in the community.

I am looking for a friendly and caring person willing to spend a little bit of time to get to know my personality, understand my needs and encourage me to participate in more social interaction and activities.

Main Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support.   High level of Supervision required at all times.

Support and encouragement to access the wider community and participate in identified social activities.

Support to identify alternative activities I may enjoy.

To provide support with social and emotional needs.

To provide support and encouragement with personal care.

Minimum Qualifications N/A

Experience and Skills required (Essential and desirable)

You must be friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic about caring for others.

Ideally have experience of supporting children/young people with additional needs.  Experience and skills of formal/informal care work.

Willingness to build up and develop positive relationships.

Be patient, kind and trustworthy. Have good communication skills and the ability to be punctual and reliable.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
