Support Worker/Care Worker - CROSBY SF/DP/JR

Wage:   Up to £11.44 p/h

Hours   7 hrs per week

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a few hours (approx. 3.30 – 5.30).

Job purpose

To provide support for a 7-year-old fun loving boy who is autistic and has limited communication.

This can be at his home or trips outside.  He loves everything outdoors e.g., the park, beach, woods and going for walks and he is happy to travel places by car or bus.

Main Responsibilities

Time spent during school term times will be to help with after school support on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a few hours (approx. 3.30 – 5.30).   School holidays are more flexible.

Main duties:   To spend time to get to know his lovely personality and learn how he communicates his needs.

To provide 1:1 support   Support him to participate in activities that he enjoys and help him to discover new ones.

Provide personal care – this involves supporting in changing 1 pull up. He will take it off after school himself and might need help stepping in to a new one.

Experience and Skills required

Essential**You must be friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic about caring for others.

Ideally have experience of supporting children/young people with additional needs.

Willingness to build up and develop positive relationships.\ Be patient, kind and trustworthy. Good communication skills and the ability to be punctual and reliable.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
