Young Person's Support Worker required - Churchtown

Duration: Permanent

Wage: £11.00 per hour

Hours - Up to 10 hours per week.

Evenings Monday to Friday, daytime during weekends and daytime during school holidays. Hours can vary to suit the individual.

Job purpose

To provide support to a friendly, caring, loving, fun loving, nonverbal, 14-year-old boy with global developmental delay, learning difficulties in the Churchtown area of Southport.

The ideal person would be someone who has a lot of patience, a lot of energy, someone who is highly reliable and with experience (personal or professional experience) of working with adults/children with additional needs.

He loves to play most ball games including football, swimming, crazy golf (a free-swimming pass will be provided for Splashworld Southport and expenses paid for treats and golf etc)

He will need to be collected and returned to Churchtown so somebody who is local or with a car would be essential for this position.

Main Responsibilities

Facilitating independence and safety in the community

Attending football matches

Playing football, crazy golf, and swimming.

Experience and Skills required.

You must be caring, friendly and empathetic.

Good communication skills required.

Experience with supporting people with additional needs.

Positive working attitude AND Behaviour Reliable and Trustworthy (good time management)

A "good-match" to the child is the most significant attribute for this role.
