5 hours per week, to be worked over a Monday, Wednesday & Friday although days/times of sessions are flexible and will be mutually agreed.

Flexibility is required due to the unpredictably of my health problems and insomnia meaning that my routine can change from day to day, and I may need support at slightly different times depending on how I am managing.

Occasionally it might be necessary to arrange for all the weekly hours to be used on one day for support with health/medical appointments or for other reasons such as attending community-based activities.

Rate of Pay: £13.00 per hour

I am a male in my 30s with learning difficulties, including ADHD, autism and PTSD. I have physical health problems that affect my mobility, my ability to carry out certain day to day tasks and can cause insomnia. I would benefit from support from someone who is patient, understanding and able to provide structure, reminders and encouragement.

Summary of support needed –

Prompting and reminding with day-to-day tasks

Light household support

Help with staying organised and on track with routines

Support to access the community and build confidence

Expected duties would be:

Prompting with personal care

Prompting with daily tasks, such as taking the bins out, doing laundry and general household organisation

Prompting with cooking meals and supporting basic meal routines

Supporting with setting goals and tasks, and helping to stay focused on them

Providing gentle accountability, including reminders and encouragement

Assisting and prompting with accessing the community, including helping to leave the flat and attend activities or appointments

Encouraging engagement in my hobbies and interests (creative writing and arts and crafts)

I am keen to maintain and build on my independence, so I am looking for prompting and encouragement instead of someone taking over tasks for me.

Essential qualities:

Kind and caring nature

Patience and understanding when supporting someone living with PTSD

Patience and flexibility when supporting someone with ADHD

Driver preferred but not essential

Experience supporting adults with similar needs including mobility problems

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
