About the role

Job Description

Supporting a male in their early 60’s with schizoaffective disorder to access the community and leisure activities and where necessary/appropriate assist with shopping, cleaning, nutrition (including meals out) and personal care prompts. An intelligent male who loves rock music and birdwatching and enjoys being outdoors in nature.

Hours: 20 hours a week, mornings preferred but days and times to be decided between the family and applicant.

Rate of Pay: £13.00 per hour.

Expected duties would be:

· Prompting, encouraging and supporting with exercise. Mainly the gym and swimming.

· Prompting and reminding with day-to-day tasks.

· Light household support.

· Support to access the community and partake in hobbies and interests.

Would benefit from support from someone who is patient, understanding and able to provide structure, reminders and encouragement.

Essential skills and experience:

· Kind and caring nature

· Patience and understanding· Patience and flexibility

· Experience supporting adults with similar needs

· Full driver’s license and access to a vehicle is desirable.

check is required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the
employer.
