Description
We are looking for a fun, engaging, and knowledgeable Personal
Assistant to support a very bright, talkative, and funny 14-year-old boy with
a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.
We are flexible about the times and days which will be weekends
or after school times for up to 12 hours a week term time and 16 hours per
week in school holidays.
He is a joy to be around and loves a good laugh, but he finds it
difficult to motivate himself to get outdoors and stay active and is anxious
when facing new experiences.
We need someone who can act as a positive role
model, using his passions as a bridge to help him explore the world beyond
his front door.
Key Responsibilities
Special Interest Engagement:
Spend time engaging in his core
passions, including Warhammer, gaming, and history. Whether it's discussing
lore, painting miniatures, or gaming together, your shared enthusiasm is key.
Outdoor Motivation:
Gently support and encourage him to get
active and outdoors. This might involve trips to local historical sites,
Warhammer stores, or parks for engaging activities.

Expected
duties would be:
Community
based activities to encourage him to engage with life beyond home and to feel
less anxious.
Social
activities together which encourage positive mental wellbeing, fun and
relaxation.
Involvement
in hobbies: Warhammer, tabletop gaming, gaming and history.
Supporting
independent skills i.e. walking to the local shop or using a bus/train.
Supporting
and enabling him to engage in more physical activity and outdoor activities.
Transport
by car if possible to hobbies and activities.
Essential
skills
Having a
driver’s licence and ability to drive is helpful as our son is reluctant on
public transport, however, helping to prepare him for using public transport
may also be part of the role.
Must be
a caring person and friendly person with patience and a good sense of humour.
Interests:
A genuine interest in Warhammer, tabletop gaming, or
history is highly desirable. You’ll need to keep up with his quick wit and
extensive knowledge!
Reliability:
Consistency is vital for building the trust needed
to get him active.
Intellectual Stimulation: He is very bright and loves historical
information; you should be someone who enjoys deep conversations and sharing
knowledge.
An enhanced DBS check will be required before
employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.

private household therefore we CANNOT provide sponsorship, so you MUST have a
full right to work in the UK.
