About the role
Carer/Support Worker/PA Netherton, SeftonDP/JR/DL
To provide 1:1 support to a 15-year-old boy diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and has a PDA profile who communicates his needs
using simple language and gestures.
The support will take place within his home environment to allow his parents time to go out with his younger siblings.
The role will involve supporting and prompting with aspects of personal care and to provide close supervision.
Somone who has previous experience of care/support work is essential and knowledge and skills of working with SEN
would be desirable.
We are looking for someone who is a compassionate, friendly and reliable.
10 hours term time and 15 hours during school holidays
£12.75
per hour
Duties (day to day)
• Provide 1:1 support.
• Provide support with some aspects of personal care.
• Prompting to complete daily tasks
• Always require a high level of supervision.
• Always ensuring safety
• Supporting with regulation technique’s
• Support to identify alternative activities he may enjoy.
Essential skills
• You must be friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic about caring for others.
• Previous care/support work experience essential
• Have a positive outlook.
• Experience of supporting children/young people with SEN would be desirable.
• Experience of supporting of supporting children/young people with Autism would be desirable
• Knowledge and understanding of Autism/ADHD would be desirable
• Good communication skills
• Ability to be punctual and reliable.
• Willingness to build up and develop positive relationships.
• Be patient, kind and trustworthy.
An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the
employer.
