About the role
To provide support to a non-verbal 8-year-old Autistic boy. I have a bubbly
personality but can be shy with new people. I can communicate some of my
needs through physical touch.
I like to go swimming and enjoy trips to the park. I also like playing on my
trampoline.
I am looking for a kind caring person who is willing to get to know me and
understand my needs and support me to attend activities I enjoy and explore
new things.
I always require close supervision particularly out in the community to keep me
safe as I can run off.
8hrs per week
(To be mutually agreed with employer)
£12.75 per hour
Duties
Provide 1:1 support.
To always provide close supervision.
To spend time to get to know my personality and learn how I communicate my needs.
Interact and play with me.
Support me to participate in activities that I enjoy.
Help to keep me safe whilst out and about.
Essential Skills
You must be friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic about caring for others.
experience of supporting children/adults with autism (desirable)
experience of supporting children/young people with additional needs (desirable)
Willingness to build up and develop positive relationships.
Be patient, kind and trustworthy.
Good communication skills
punctual and reliable.
An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment
commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
