About the role
This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact on the life of an adult with Down’s syndrome and associated learning difficulties who requires support to engage in social activities during early evening time and at weekends.
He is fit, healthy and energetic. Lives at home with his parents and attends a day centre during the week. You will be working in a supportive environment that values compassion and dedication.
Days and times to be agreed.
Job share would be considered
Maximum of 25hrs per week
£12.75 per hour
Duties
- Accompany and assist with transport to social activities, including swimming (he is an excellent swimmer), bowling, theatre, playing pool
etc
- Ensure appropriate behaviour management to promote
positive interactions
- provide companionship and emotional support to enhance
quality of life
Essential Skills
Desirable
-Previous experience in care giving/support work
-Basic first aid and emergency response protocols
-Driving licence and access to a car

-strong interpersonal skills
-genuine passion for helping others
An enhanced DBS check will be
required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer
