About the role
					I am a 49 year
old adult male with a combination of physical and mental health issues. As
reassurance, I would like to state that my mental health diagnosis do not cause
me to be a risk to other people and that we can discuss these further during
any possible interview.
I would like support from someone who will kindly encourage me to engage with my hobbies and
interests, as well as assisting me where necessary. I also need encouragement
and some support with basic self-care. Additionally, I need support with phone
calls and attending appointments. I also need some assistance with medications
when my partner is not present.
I would like
support for up to 16 hours per week and would appreciate someone who could,
occasionally, work flexibly through mutual agreement, for example when an
appointment falls outside the usual hours. I have enjoyed working closely with
my previous support workers, and I am also able to be flexible with times on
occasion and through mutual agreement.
Rate of Pay   £12.75 P/H
Duties
As the relationship between myself and you as my carer will be new, I am expecting that the two of us will work together to create a
routine.
There may be times when day to day duties will differ depending upon where support is most needed, such as appointments or the need
for me to engage with an activity beyond the home environment in order to
support my mental well-being.
My main priority, at the moment, is to find someone who will be able to encourage me to engage with activities to support my mental
health, such as arts and crafts and gardening. This would also include physical
support.
I need some help self-care, including prompts for washing etc.
I also need encouragement and support to engage with some housework, particularly in spaces in the house that are used only by myself.
I require assistance with communication, such as Doctors, the DWP and support accessing mental health services before I reach a crisis
point.
I would also like some help with remembering what I need to do and encouragement am feel unable to or I am reluctant to engage with a task.
I need support organizing appointments and other events
that come up. Transportation and support during the appointment would be useful
but is not necessary if you do not have a car or are unable to drive. Mileage
costs will be agreed upon and paid.
Occasionally, I may need support with for medication when
partner is away from the home. My medication is prepackaged in blister backs
and the main area of support will be reminders to take the tablets
Occasionally I may
need support in with food and drink in order for me to maintain a healthy diet.
This could also include support with cooking and prompting to eat and drink
when my partner is away.
