Pay Type: Monthly

Salary: £14.19 per hour.

Location: Bootle

Contract Type: Permanent – subject to a satisfactory 3-month probationary
period.

Job Purpose: To work as part of a team endeavouring to provide
quality accommodation and support services for adults within a safe and secure
environment.

Main Responsibilities: Overall
responsibility: To provide client support services within a hostel environment.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 37.5
Hours per week. (Alternating shifts 8am – 4pm then following week late shifts
1pm – 9pm).

Comments: Enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.

Minimum Qualification Comments: NVQ Level 3
Heath and social care qualification desirable.

Closing Date: Friday 31st October 2025.

Interview Date: Monday 10th November 2025.

Experience and Skills: A
background in health and social care, homelessness services setting is
essential. Working with vulnerable adults some of whom have complex needs that
may include mental health issues, addiction and require support to access services.

Aims of job:

To work as part
of a team endeavouring to provide quality accommodation and support services
for adults and young people, many of whom will present with chaotic and complex
issues, within a safe and secure environment.

To work within
the framework of Bosco Society’s policies and procedures in ensuring the
provision of an effective, efficient, and quality service for our Adult and
Young People Services, through the management, development, maintenance and
monitoring of systems that enable the organisation to fulfil its contract
obligations to Sefton Council.

To work in
partnership and to foster good working relationships with external services.

Overall responsibility:

To work effectively as a Keyworker
to several residents in drawing up their support plans.

To deal with any crisis /emergency situations that may arise.

To take responsibility for the Health and Safety aspects of the building whilst on
shift and report any necessary incidents to the Project Manager as appropriate.

Main Duties:
* Work within a team, supporting colleagues and
attending team meetings and any core training that is required for the post
and/or for professional development.
* Complete handover checklist with night staff.
Read and update communication book, discuss any residents/events at the
beginning and end of each shift.
* Complete office tasks, self-referrals,
update Mainstay and risk assessments.
* Carry out Mainstay assessments.
* Provide support
to residents and record any relevant information on their support plans, via
the Mainstay system, including understanding and complying with their tenancy
obligations, keeping themselves safe, budgeting, registering with GP, dentist
and any other relevant services that will help in achieving independence. When
necessary, accompany residents to any health appointments. Assist residents in
completing all housing applications in preparation for moving on. Promote the
availability of properties on a weekly basis.
* To complete and update risk assessments
and changes in risk via the Mainstay system.
* Collect service charges, place in safe
box and record appropriately.
* Maintain an
awareness of events in the house and record any concerns or incidents in the
relevant files.
* Ensure all
controlled medicines are correctly recorded and record and supervise resident’s
self-medication.
* Ensure house
rules are observed by residents and initiate disciplinary action when required.
* Complete
house check at handover, ensure doors and windows are secure. Clean and tidy
office/communal areas.
* Ensure
appointments are placed in diary and on appointment board and remind residents
of them.
* Maintain all
communal areas, residents’ lounge, and toilet facilities in a clean and tidy
state.
* Promote equality, inclusion, respect and fairness at
all times and to manage diversity in all areas of planning and service
delivery, taking an active involvement in implementing our Equality, Diversity
and Inclusion Policy.
* To be familiar with and comply with Health and Safety
policies and procedures, and in the event of any serious risk, take immediate
action to reduce this risk and inform management.
* Ensure that adequate confidentiality and ethical
standards are always maintained in respect of service users and Bosco Society
as a whole in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
* Adhere to Bosco Society’s Safeguarding Procedures
ensuring that you are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
all residents.
* Undertake all other duties that may occasionally
arise, that fall within the purpose of the post.
* Carry out Health and Safety checks as required.
* To
identify and attend training as required, contributing to your own personal
development.
* To
participate in a standby rota on rolling basis with other staff member
