The ‘Fit for Success’ initiative is designed to support jobseekers by enhancing their mental and physical wellbeing while equipping them with the confidence and resilience needed to secure employment.

What is ‘Fit for Success’?

‘Fit for Success’ is a forward-thinking programme that combines outdoor activities, wellness strategies, and employability support. At its core, the initiative is structured around the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ framework: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Give. By embedding these principles into daily activities, the programme fosters a sense of community, encourages physical movement, enhances mindfulness, promotes continuous learning, and inspires participants to give back.

Each morning, participants engage in a variety of activities tailored to these wellbeing principles. From mindfulness exercises and team-building challenges to skill development sessions, the programme ensures a holistic approach to self-improvement. A delicious buffet lunch follows, providing a welcoming environment that strengthens connections among participants.

Outdoor Adventures at Crosby Lakeside

A standout feature of the programme is its location at Crosby Lakeside, where clients take to the water for exhilarating outdoor experiences. Activities such as raft building, paddleboarding, and bell boating not only contribute to the ‘Be Active’ element but also help build confidence, resilience, and teamwork—key skills that are transferable to the workplace.

Long-Term Benefits for Participants

The success of ‘Fit for Success’ is evident in the glowing feedback received from its participants. Many report significant improvements in self-confidence, physical fitness, and overall wellbeing. As the programme continues to evolve, Sefton@Work remains committed to providing long-term benefits to its clients. One such incentive is the free three-month Sefton Gym Pass, awarded to participants upon completion. This ensures that the commitment to health and wellbeing extends beyond the duration of the course, encouraging ongoing self-care and an active lifestyle.
