Assistant/Companion -SOUTHPORT


Job purpose:

Your role will be as a helper and companion to a retired academic. Mainly, your support would be required accompanying the gentleman out in the community.

Main Responsibilities:

Whilst out, you will act as a go-between or intermediary in situations such as eating out, paying bills, going to the bank, buying food and general shopping, etc. if the gentleman is having difficulty.

Minimum Qualifications

Having a licence and car would be an advantage. Aside from being able to read, write and understand basic maths (e.g. working out if the change and receipt are correct), there are no minimum qualifications.

Experience and skills:

Patience, good communication skills and a methodical approach to situations or problems are vital.

Good time-keeping and organisational skills are also very important. The person suffers from Asperger Syndrome, which in this case results in some subtle difficulties with social and communication skills (any information you may need will be provided).

No personal care is required.

Up to 23 hours per week. Times and hours negotiable.

£10.20 p/h
