Location: Orrell Park, L9 8BX

Hours of work: 9am till 2pm working Monday to Friday only with no evenings and weekends, meaning you will be able to maintain a healthy work life balance.

Job type: Part time permanent

Salary/rate: £10.60 per hour.

Requirements for the cook/Housekeeper:

· We are looking to employ a Nursery Cook/Housekeeper to join our enthusiastic team of professionals caring for children from 6 weeks to 5 years. The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of the team, be well organized and presentable.

· Ideally previous experience working within a catering environment.

· A good understanding of food safety standards requirements for management.

· Food Hygiene level 2 qualification (desirable)

· Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure, which expense will be met by applicant.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Organising, cooking and preparing a healthy balanced diet for all children aged 0-5 years old, catering for children with a wide variety of specific individual dietary requirements for a large number of children each day.

· Taking responsibility to make sure all dietary requirements/allergens are catered for and clearly communicated to the teams in our rooms.

· To comply with Food Safety regulations and ensure that all food prepared on the premises is safe and free of contamination.

· Abide by guidelines set out in Safer Food Better Business and ensure all information is logged and used in the correct manner.

· Carry out all duties according to health and safety legislation. Comply with the company’s procedures relating to the Control of substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), having an understanding the principals of storing and using cleaning materials safety and taking precautions to protect yourself and others and ensure that all records are up to date and available.

· Have basic computer skills for planning menus, ordering of food supplies to meet the menu requirements and being aware of stock control.

· Ensuring that children are offered healthy food choices by providing them high quality, nutritious, freshly prepared meals in appropriate portion sizes and consistencies.

· Ensure that food is rotated and stored in the correct manner from contamination. · Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and food hygiene.

· Liaise with regulatory bodies during their inspection visits, ensuring action points and recommendations are addressed in a timely manner.

· Enjoy being involved with children and carrying out small weekly cookery activities.

· Adhere to the settings policies and procedures.

· Any other duties appropriate as directed by the manager.

· Housekeeping of communal areas.
