Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Experience and Skills: Relevant experience would be preferred but not essential, as training will be given. The successful applicant should have the ability to organise, monitor and evaluate their own workload in order to meet targets and deadlines. Strength of character is needed to deal with distressed and/or vulnerable clients. Good interpersonal skills are essential.

Job Purpose: Audio Secretary to the supervisor of the Housing Law Department. You will be part of a very busy and passionate team that offers legal services to individuals who may be threatened with homelessness or living in poor conditions. You will have day to day contact with clients; act as the first point of contact for clients and provide valuable admin support and organisation to the housing law specialists team.

Main Responsibilities: Telephone contact with clients Diary Management Producing letters, statements and legal documents Using case management system Assisting with reception cover General filing, scanning & photocopying

Working Pattern: 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Hours of Work: Full Time

Comments: James Murray Solicitors have a Legal Aid Contract to offer legal services and support to individuals with housing difficulties. Lots of the clients that you will be helping will be vulnerable and facing real life challenges. You will be part of a team that provides important services to individuals who may find themselves homeless, threatened with homelessness, living in conditions that may pose a risk to their health or face anti-social behaviour proceedings. The department can become very busy and the needs of some of the clients can be challenging. We are looking to recruit a strong character who will be able to communicate well and work as part of a hardworking team.
