Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician required for L9

Purpose of the job:To carry out Quality Assurance checks on raw materials, work in progress and finished products.

Main duties/responsibilities of the job:

• To conduct raw material testing (aflatoxin in house testing and sampling for lab).

• To conduct quality testing of raw materials to specification.

• To review certificates of analysis received from suppliers.

• To conduct sampling and send samples for microbiological analysis.

• To release or reject raw materials as appropriate.

• To conduct process control testing (Peroxide value, moisture, salt analysis) – tests to be conducted every half hour on all products/lines.

• To conduct hourly pack checks (strip checks for counts, weights, quality attributes) tests conducted every hour on all products/lines.

• To ensure that all Health and Safety standards are maintained and that you show due diligence at all times.  You should report any bad practices to the Health and Safety Adviser.

• To comply with all company policies and procedures e.g. health \& safety, training \& development, quality, disciplinary \& grievance and sickness \& absence etc.

• To carry out any other reasonable requests to meet the needs of the business.
