Job Description:

This position is to provide 1:1 support to a 15-year-old boy who has learning difficulties and a diagnosis of Williams syndrome and autism.

He is very friendly \& happy boy although can get overwhelmed at times, but this is mainly with close family. He loves life and sees the good in everybody. He is very funny \& makes people smile around him. He likes to give out lots of compliments \& brightens up your day.

He struggles understanding the world around him, strangers, roads etc struggles with fine motor skills \& life skills. He likes swimming, going to the arcades, buses, bike riding, Blackpool, McDonalds, music and seagulls. He will require help with everyday life skills \& vital life skills along with enabling him to access the community. To also improve his confidence \& to become more independent. He works well with praise and encouragement. Somebody with some knowledge of disabilities \& a friendly personality would benefit him greatly.

Main Responsibilities

To provide 1:1 support with everyday life skills.

To support with independent skills

Provide lots of praise and encouragement

Support to access the wider community and explore new environments/activities.

Help to keep safe whilst out and about.

Essential Skills

You must be friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic about caring for others.

Ideally have experience of supporting children/young people with additional needs.

Willingness to build up and develop positive relationships.

Be patient, kind and trustworthy.

Good communication skills and the ability to be punctual and reliable.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
