Support Worker

Description:

Vacancies for Support Workers, whose primary role is to offer living support to vulnerable people who have learning difficulties or mental health issues.

Main Duties and responsibilities

1.    Using Person Centred Planning to offer support to individuals and small groups based on the identified needs and individual aspirations of service Users.

2.    To ensure that Service Users make use of opportunities in the community for a meaningful and independent life in order to maximise their full potential.

3.    To offer assistance to Service Users assessed as requiring support in undertaking their personal care.

4.     Assist Service Users with domestic and living tasks.

5.    To respond flexibly to emergencies, this may involve arranging appropriate assistance or attending to problems out of hours etc.

6.    To Maintain complete, accurate and timely records.

Person Specification

  • Experience of working in the Care Sector is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people (desirable)
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to show, compassion, care, empathy, sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Household skills eg cleaning, cooking, gardening, shopping.
  • Ability to support people to gain basic living skills.
  • Flexibility, resilience (essential).
  • Double vaccinated (desirable, but not essential).
  • Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable, but not essential.
  • Part time or full time hours available.
