POST TITLE: ROOM LEADER / UNIT LEADER RESPONSIBLE

TO: NURSERY MANAGER AND DEPUTY MANAGER MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:

 To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children

 To give support to other personnel within the Nursery.

 To implement the daily routine in the base room.

 To lead the implementation of the EYFS Framework.

 To ensuring that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences which support all aspects and components of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

 To meet requirements of Ofsted registration with relation to EYFS, special needs, child protection and Health and Safety and to ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.

 To act as room supervisor/unit leader and to implement the EYFS.

 To provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.

 To lead planning for EYFS and maintain accurate and effective children’s records.

 To promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members.

 To support the development of good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.

 To work with the Childcare and Education team to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.

 To ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and when necessary follow Safeguarding Procedures.

 To ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.

 To work with area sendco’s, EYFS advisors, health professionals, local Sure Start programmes as appropriate.

 To comply with all the relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and company policies and procedures at all times.

 To develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools, area senco’s and other agencies.

 To remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policy and practice. Kids Planet Roles and Responsibilities
