POST TITLE: ROOM LEADER / UNIT LEADER RESPONSIBLE
TO: NURSERY MANAGER AND DEPUTY MANAGER MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:
To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children
To give support to other personnel within the Nursery.
To implement the daily routine in the base room.
To lead the implementation of the EYFS Framework.
To ensuring that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences which support all aspects and components of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
To meet requirements of Ofsted registration with relation to EYFS, special needs, child protection and Health and Safety and to ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
KEY AREAS 1 Work with Children 2 Team Work 3 Liaise with Parents Key Responsibilities Childcare and Education
To act as room supervisor/unit leader and to implement the EYFS.
To provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
To lead planning for EYFS and maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
To promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
To support the development of good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
To work with the Childcare and Education team to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.
To ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and when necessary follow Safeguarding Procedures.
To ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
To work with area sendco’s, EYFS advisors, health professionals, local Sure Start programmes as appropriate.
To comply with all the relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and company policies and procedures at all times.
To develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools, area senco’s and other agencies.
To remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policy and practice. Kids Planet Roles and Responsibilities
