PA/Support Worker - Dementia

Experience and Skills: Essential: •worked as a carer for at least 1 year, preferably with experience working with dementia patients •experience of supporting a person to meet their personal care needs •a caring personality, reliable, honest and patient •references will be taken up Desirable Driver with own car Knowledge of the Southport area and suitable local amenities

Job Purpose: To support a 69-year-old man with dementia both with personal care and social needs, working within the home and taking out for walks in the local area and encouraging engagement in activity. Working closely with his family including wife and extended family who live together.

Main Responsibilities: •Instructing through shower to ensure proper cleaning. •To escort him on walks and take for coffee or occasional lunch, engage in social activity •To escort him, at times, to meet family •To occasionally sit with him at home and make lunch

Working Pattern: 12 hours a week to be worked flexibly during the day

Hours of Work: Part Time

Maximum Salary: £9.00

Comments: DBS required

Minimum Qualification Comments: Level 2 in an appropriate field
